The Opportunity

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with building HVAC design experience to join a collaborative architecture and engineering team in Roanoke. This is an excellent development opportunity for an early-career professional who wants hands-on project exposure and a clear path toward professional engineering licensure.

What You'll Do

· Support the design of HVAC systems for educational, civic, cultural, healthcare, and commercial buildings.

· Prepare construction documents and coordinate design information across disciplines.

· Perform design load calculations and energy modeling.

· Conduct site visits to verify existing building conditions.

· Collaborate directly with architects and structural, electrical, and plumbing professionals.

What We're Looking For

· 2+ years of relevant HVAC design experience.

· Working knowledge of HVAC system design and construction document production.

· Exposure to load calculation and energy modeling software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, IES VE, or equivalent.

· FE/EIT designation preferred, or a clear intention to pursue professional licensure.

· AutoCAD and Revit MEP experience preferred.

· Familiarity with COMcheck, energy-code documentation, and field verification is a plus.
